“We make up horrors to help us cope with the real ones.”
Nicholas Rollo is a performer, screenwriter, and martial artist based in Los Angeles. Originally from Connecticut, he moved west at the age of 21 to pursue his dream of becoming a professional dancer. Since then, he has performed both on screen and on stages across the country, appearing at major festivals, including World of Dance and Maxt Out. Along the way, Nicholas has directed and danced with several companies, produced live shows, and led the creative vision for numerous dance video projects. He eventually established his own dance company in 2019.
When the world shut down during the pandemic, Nicholas shifted his focus to another lifelong passion: screenwriting. Inspired by horror legends such as John Carpenter, Stephen King, and Kevin Williamson, he now writes horror and thriller stories from a queer perspective centered on bold characters and grounded emotional storytelling.
At the Los Angeles Film School, his work earned nominations for Best Plot, Best Structure, and Best Original Screenplay, and he was awarded third place in the 3x3x3 Digital Screenwriters Challenge. He graduated summa cum laude, was inducted into the Honor Society of the Entertainment Arts, and served as the organization’s Events Coordinator.
Nicholas is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Entertainment Business at Full Sail University, with plans to launch a production studio dedicated to authentic, queer storytelling.
Outside of his creative work, he holds a second-degree black belt in Tang Soo Do and teaches martial arts at a studio in Sherman Oaks. He lives in Los Angeles with his partner, Zachary, and their three dogs.
